Excellence Award

BSI Group Canada is relaunching the program after a pause due to the COVID-2019 pandemic. Nominations are now open for the BSI Award of Excellence to all BSI clients with certification in good standing in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

First launched in 2011, the BSI Award of Excellence recognizes clients who demonstrated a culture of excellence and continual improvement in their business during the previous year.

Implementing an efficient and productive management system and adhering to internationally recognized ISO standards can improve performance, enhance competitive position, and increase profitability. These are the qualities the BSI Award of Excellence is honouring.

BSI clients, BSI Client Managers and Senior Account Managers are invited to submit nominations. Clients are allowed to nominate their own company or another.

How the nomination process works:

  • Clients will be asked to submit their nominations (one nomination per client; self-nomination is allowed and encouraged).
  • Nominations should include why you feel the selected organization deserves the BSI Award of Excellence.
  • BSI Client Managers and Senior Account Managers can submit nominations.
  • Nominees will be assessed and scored based on performance criteria relevant to BSI certification.
  • Top nominees will be announced in the second quarter of 2024.
  • The selection of the BSI Award of Excellence winner will be announced in the second quarter of 2024.

BSI Excellence Award winner

We are pleased to announce that McElhanney, a Western Canadian professional engineering consulting and geomatics firm, has won BSI's 2023 Excellence Award.

Established in 1910, McElhanney is an award-winning, employee-owned professional consulting firm providing geomatics, engineering, geospatial, planning, landscape architecture, and environmental services.

“As a team, we have worked hard to revamp our QMS in recent years, making it more accessible to everyone and enabling easy procedure compliance. Our BSI auditors have also provided valuable Opportunities for Improvement at almost every audit, most of which we have implemented as we seek to continuously improve,” said Bernard Abelson, McElhanney’s Company Quality Manager.
