    Standing by its long-held traditions of innovation, design and state-of-the-art production, Squire began its digital security revolution in 2018.

    The Inigma system eliminates the risk associated with the loss and duplication of physical keys. Instead, it uses end-to-end encryption to enable businesses to control access to thousands of locks from just one smart key and a simple smartphone app.

    The Challenge

    How do you maintain the highest standard of digital security in a landscape of ever-evolving cyber threats?

    With a business built on providing its customers with lock-solid security, Squire sought to set the benchmark for smart wireless locks with its Inigma system.

    Software apps are vulnerable to security risks that can compromise functionality, performance and reliability. Since its launch in 2018, Inigma has been certified to the early security benchmark SDA level 1. However, as the threat landscape continues to evolve, recognized that achieving the highest level of certification, verified by a third party, would provide customers with the assurance they need to put their trust in Inigma.

    The Solution

    Squire chose to put Inigma through its paces against the most rigorous of security testing standards: Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Level 3.

    Squire's ultimate goal was to gain the globally recognized BSI Kitemark for Secure Digital Applications. This means the software has to undergo comprehensive third-party testing not only during the certification process but on an ongoing basis. This is necessary to maintain security compliance. It means Squire's customers can trust that the Inigma system has been meticulously vetted for digital security, adhering to best practices in safeguarding personal, professional, and private information.
