    Telecommunication Technology Association (TTA) and BSI sign Memorandum of Understanding

    Dr Scott Steedman, Director-General of Standards at BSI and Mr Choi Young Hae, President of Telecommunication Technology Association (TTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through a virtual video link on Friday 17th July 2020.

    The new agreement builds upon existing cooperation with the TTA on new technologies for the Built Environment. It will enable BSI and TTA to work together on joint events and collaborative projects sharing best practice for Smart Cities and IoT to support bilateral trade between Korea and UK, whilst supporting international standardization activity in a range of ICT areas.

    Dr Scott Steedman said, “The new agreement recognizes the critical role that standards play in fuelling the development of new mobile solutions and the convergence of telecommunications with electrotechnical technologies. We look forward to collaborating with TTA and leading industry experts over the next two years to develop and grow international best practices.”

    Mr Choi Young Hae added, “During the outbreak of COVID-19, ICT has become increasingly important in our daily life. The signing of this MoU is highly encouraging and meaningful, as we will help each other to successfully deliver future challenges in ICT convergence such as Smart Cities and AI. Together we can lead international data transformation and data inclusiveness.”

    The agreement will be in place until 2022.
