Digital Verification Service Providers can now gain certification to the latest Gamma version (0.4) of the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF). The Trust Framework is key to the UK Government’s digital identity strategy, ensuring secure interoperability and user confidence. This version sets out a clearly defined set of rules and technical requirements that providers must follow to demonstrate solutions are secure, accurate, and trustworthy.
The Gamma version expands the framework to cover five distinct roles: Identity, Attribute, Orchestration, Holder, and Component services. This broader scope allows a wider range of providers to seek certification. Organisations delivering at least one of these roles can now access the scheme, with each role mapped to a specific set of framework requirements forming the basis of assessment.
Certification to the Gamma version delivered independently by BSI is mandatory for providers supporting digital DBS checks and those seeking integration with GOV.UK services such as One Login. It also demonstrates a provider’s commitment to delivering trusted digital identity services in line with national standards.
