What’s this webinar about?

Following the COVID-19 downturn, organizations have an opportunity to reset their internal procedures to introduce good practice. In doing so, they may be able to establish and realize efficiencies before they reach an economic capacity that may hinder the ability to reflect on internal procedures.

To that end, this webinar provides an overview of how organizations can benefit from digitizing their physical records and features a case study showing how one organization has realized those benefits in practice.

Dan Rossiter MCIAT, Sector-lead, British Standards Institution

As part of his role within the British Standards Institution (BSI), Chartered Architectural Technologist Dan Rossiter provides subject matter expertise, thought leadership, and sector engagement around the digital transformation of the built environment. In addition, beyond his role at BSI, Dan has been actively supporting the construction industry locally, nationally, and internationally for several years:

Locally, Dan supports Constructing Excellence in Wales, is a councillor for the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), Wales Region and co-chair of UK BIM Alliance Wales
Nationally, Dan supports Constructing Excellence, Generation for Change, the UK BIM Alliance, is a member of the CIAT council and several special interest groups as well as a contributor to national standards development within BSI and
Internationally, Dan is a supporter of buildingSMART International as well as a contributor to international standards development within CEN and ISO.

All of Dan’s knowledge and expertise is applied to his award-winning blog There’s No BIM Like Home. Where the full UK BIM Framework is used on his own mid-terrace home in South Wales; practicing what he preaches through transparency, plain language and engaging example.

Construction, Lean Construction strategies, data interoperability, AI, blockchain, construction design, management & advice, modern methods of constructions, manufacturing processes including industry 4.0,

Products Europe Digitalization & BIM Task Group, strategy advisor for EU funded project DigiPlace, a member of Built Environment Executive at the Institute of Engineering & Technology, member of B/555
British Standards Institute and technical expert for CEN/TC 442 and ISO.

My previous job roles in construction sector, manufacturing and renewable energy sectors have given me a broad expertise of the industry as a whole. I am considered at expert in the field of BIM/ Digitalization
(including setting up digital transformation strategies for businesses/Industry 4.0 and I am a Level 2 certified practitioner (Task and Project Information Manager), having delivered a number of talks and
seminars on the topic, I am seen as an expert in this field.
