One of the first organizations to achieve Sustainable Events Management Standard (ISO 20121), Goodwood has maintained its certification since 2012.

Since first achieving BSI certification in Sustainable Events Management, the Goodwood event teams have continued to develop the estate’s management system to drive sustainability across its events, including Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.
But Goodwood also needed to look forwards. It faced a growing expectation from visitors and partners to operate the events as sustainably as possible. This presented it with a key challenge: how to run prestigious events that preserved their character and heritage, while also meeting today’s demanding ‘green’ goals.
In complying with the standard, Goodwood ensures it has robust processes in place to drive improvement. These range from maintaining the commitment of senior leadership to assigning responsibilities across its event teams, as well as engaging proactively with key suppliers, including those for cleaning, food, waste management and energy.
