Who uses standards?

Small businesses adopt BSI’s standards to gain an edge over their competition and to enable them to compete against larger companies.

For most businesses, national or international, using standards is absolutely necessary to prove you’re working responsibly and to the highest standards.

BSI works closely with the UK government and governments around the world to produce formal national or international standards and to deliver quick answers to immediate problems.

Standards have a direct and beneficial impact on the general public. These include ‘traditional’ consumer-related standards such as those for domestic appliances, or signs and symbols, as well as newer types of standard for sustainability, social responsibility or services.
