BSI was informed on 26 October 2019 by the Medicines and Healthcare products and Regulatory Agency (MHRA) that its UK notified body is one of the first in Europe to be designated to the new IVDR (EU 2017/746).

UK government announces extension of Commonwealth Standards Network funding to help boost trade and spread prosperity throughout the Commonwealth >

At the Commonwealth Trade Ministers meeting on 10th October 2019, the UK Trade Minister Liz Truss announced £2.5m of additional UK Aid funding for BSI to deliver the next stage of Commonwealth Standards Network (CSN) from April 2020 to March 2021.

BSI calls for comment on the safety of automated vehicles >

BSI, the business improvement company and the UK National Standard Body, is inviting comments on PAS 1881 Assuring safety for automated vehicle trials and testing, a new industry specification for driverless pods, cars and trucks. The specification is designed to ensure automated vehicle trials and on-road tests meet with industry good practice on safety and risk management.
